Property Management

Recently, the Rental Board decided that property management companies must be represented by a lawyer at a hearing. Consequently, a management company is unable to initiate legal proceedings before the Rental Board or deposit any application without first retaining the services of a lawyer. As such, a commissioner of the Rental Board can refuse any procedure and/or request filed by a property management company who is not represented by a lawyer. The management company can only act as a witness during the deposition of the evidence at a hearing.
